Question by Just a small town girl: How to pay back OSAP?
I’ve been trying to figure this out for quite some time. I called the hotline I found on a school website…I’m having a heck of a time trying to figure out HOW to make a payment :S I asked my bank, but they don’t have them as an automatic payee (not sure how else to explain it). So what information do I need, and how can I set up payments? I’m having a heck of a time figuring out how. I work full-time, I just want to start paying this back, but the loan website keeps taking me in circles. They could really make it better!

Any help is appreciated!

You must repay your loans to the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) if you have any of the following:

Canada Student Loans negotiated on or after August 1, 2000; or
Canada-Ontario Integrated Student Loans negotiated after July 31, 2001.

Payments can be made by mail to:

https://nslsc.canlearn.ca/eng/default.aspx

PO Box 4030
Mississauga, ON L5A 4M4
Within North America: 1-888-815-4514
Outside North America: 800 2 225-2501 plus appropriate country code
TTY: 1-888-815-4556

Or, by downloading and completing a Preauthorized Payment Form from the NSLSC website:

https://nslsc.canlearn.ca/eng/toolbox.aspx

You must repay the lender (bank, credit union, or caisse populaire) holding your loans if you have either of the following:

Canada Student Loans negotiated before August 1, 2000; or
Ontario Student Loans negotiated before August 1, 2001.
As of your consolidation date, the amount of interest that accrued on your loans during the grace period is calculated and you can either pay the interest or add (capitalize) it to your loan principle.
